I met Greg Miller at work and every day after that he told me I should try paddle boarding. I finally went out on the water with him and have been hooked ever since.  

The rush of surfing and the power of the rapids was a adrenaline rush that I’d been missing since I left the Rocky Mountains. Since my introduction, I’ve bought four paddle boards and me, my wife, and three Rhodesian Ridgebacks try to go out every weekend.

FAVORITE PADDLING LOCATIONS

FLATWATER SNYDERS LANDING - POTOMAC - MARYLAND

Great flat water location that has a boat ramp that you can unload at. The turn off for the boat ramp can easily be missed, so pay attention for a single lane bridge. I normally paddle up stream and than enjoy the float back. I normally paddle my 11.0 with my dogs at this location.

FLATWATER SNYDERS LANDING - POTOMAC - MARYLAND

FLATWATER - EDWARDS FERRY - MARYLAND

This is one of my wife’s favorite spots. Can drive down the boat ramp and paddle up stream in flat water. We have seen multiple bald eagles whenever we go paddling. I normally paddle my 11.0 with my dogs at this location.

RIVER SURFING - OFFUT - MARYLAND / VIRGINIA

This is one of the best waves to surf in the area. There is a hike to get there but the wave train isn’t bad to cross and the eddy is pretty easy going. Also a great place to bring someone to watch you surf. I prefer riding the 6.5 at this spot but the 7.2 also works.
