How To Use the ERS 12VDC Pump + ERS GOTM

The Earth River SUP 12VDC Pump and optional ERS GO™ portable power pack take the effort out of inflating your SUP so you can save your time and energy for the water. These instructions will show you how to use these exclusive ERS accessories to blow up your board while avoiding the manual effort of using a hand pump.

Inflation Instructions

Before using the Earth River SUP 12VDC Pump and optional accessories please read the instructions and safety precautions from the guide included with the product.

Use only authorized ERS accessories with the ERS 12VDC Pump. Use of a third-party power supply or modification to the included power supply can result in damage to the unit, will void the warranty, and can be extremely dangerous.

This product is designed to operate from an automotive 12V lighter/accessory socket rated for a minimum of 15 amps or can be powered by the ERS GO™ portable power supply. Do not let a third party operate or use the ERS 12VDC Pump without providing them full safety instructions and precautions.

CONNECT POWER

Insert the 12VDC plug into your vehicle’s lighter socket or an ERS power supply such as the ERS GO™ or 120V ERS Power Adaptor. If using a vehicle's lighter socket, keep the engine running to avoid draining the battery.

CHECK VALVE POSITION

Rotate the board inflation valve to the UP (CLOSED) position. This will allow air to enter the valve and will prevent it from being released when pumping is completed.

CONNECT HOSE TO PUMP

Attach the hose to the port marked INFLATE. Ensure that the port marked DEFLATE is clear and free from debris so that air can be drawn in to inflate the board.

CONNECT HOSE TO BOARD

Secure the hose end to the board valve by pushing downward and rotating clockwise. The hose end may have a tendency to rotate back and disengage due to tension on the hose. If you notice this happening, simply move and re-orient the pump to a position where it is not applying tension to the hose.

SELECT INFLATION PRESSURE

Set the selector knob to the desired inflation pressure. This should be set to 15 PSI for ERS boards. Most other boards will list the recommended inflation pressure somewhere near the valve.

START THE PUMP

Press the ON button to start inflation. This will initially start a low-pressure blower that makes a whirring sound, then will switch to a higher pressure pumping action. When this switching occurs, the pump will become much louder and the needle will vibrate back and forth rapidly

AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF

The pump will turn off automatically when the desired pressure is reached. This may vary up to 1PSI from the setting on the knob. An ERS handheld pressure gauge (sold separately) can be used to verify PSI. The typical pumping time for 15 PSI is 7-12 minutes depending on board size.

REPLACE VALVE COVER

Insert the valve cover to protect the valve/stem and to prevent accidental deflation.

Deflation Instructions

The procedure for deflating your board is similar to the inflation procedure with two differences. The board valve should be set in the OPEN position which will drain 90% of the air from the board before connecting the pump, and the pump will not automatically stop so you will be required to press the OFF button when the board has deflated flat.

RELEASE AIR AND CONNECT HOSE

To begin, push the stem with your thumb to the DOWN (OPEN) position and rotate 1/4 turn to release most of the air. Connect the hose in the same manner as you inflate the board.

CONNECT HOSE TO PUMP

Connect the threaded end of the hose to the outlet marked DEFLATE. Ensure the open port marked INFLATE is clear and free from debris as it is where the pump will expel internal air from the board.

START THE PUMP

Press the ON button and the pump will continue to deflate the board. It will not automatically shut off so it is important to watch the pump and press the OFF button when the board has been completely deflated.

REPLACE VALVE COVER

Remove the pump hose and replace the valve cover to protect the valve stem.

Important Information

  • DO NOT allow the pump to get wet or come into contact with water. This can potentially short the pump.
  • DO NOT use this product if any damage has occurred to the power cable or 12VDC plug interface.
  • DO NOT attempt to use a third party power source. Power this product from a standard vehicle 12VDC accessory connection or an approved ERS accessory such as the 120V Power Pack or the ERS GO™ portable power supply.
