PALM BEACH COUNTY FLORIDA
Whether it’s playing in whitewater on the river, or a lazy paddle on a calm Atlantic Ocean day, the water is my happy place. I have been lucky enough to enjoy water sports in many countries. I have lived in nine countries, and traveled to many more. Being able to deflate my Earth River SUP Board, and bring it with me has been great fun.
One of the things I love about paddleboarding is that it is a great platform (pun intended), for viewing wildlife. My favorite wildlife encounters while paddleboarding include curious manatees and dolphins approaching me, and watching sea turtles and eagle rays cruising below me.
I came to Florida for my master’s degree in environmental science, and I currently teach, play, and live in Palm Beach County Florida. I paddle on the Loxahatchee River, the Intracoastal, and of course, in the Atlantic. When not in Florida, the most likely place to find me on the water is playing in the waves on the Potomac River in D.C. Hope to see you on the water!
